Abstract: Precise gain control is achieved through the use of pulse width modulation (PWM) control of cascaded amplifier stages. This circuit can be used as a Sensitivity-Time-Control (STC) circuit in sampling-type radar systems or in ultrasonic rangefinders where the gain of the receiver needs to increase exponentially with increasing range.
